In order to ensure that tuition does not act as a barrier for those wishing to participate in the Cadillac Leadership Program,
we offer a limited number of partial-tuition scholarships. Our scholarship committee will evaluate all entries for eligibility,
and scholarship assistance will be determined by those who demonstrate the most valid need.

Ronald J Blanchard Memorial Scholarship
Mayor Ronald J. Blanchard was the longest serving Mayor in the history of the City of Cadillac, serving with distinction from 1990 – 2008. Mayor Blanchard truly loved the community and strongly believed that it was everyone’s responsibility to be involved and active in local events and activities. He was a proponent of lifelong learning and as such, was a strong supporter of the Cadillac Leadership program. The Ronald J. Blanchard Memorial Scholarship has been made possible through the generosity of B & P Manufacturing and Mercantile Bank of Michigan.
A partial scholarship of up to $750.00 is available to help defray tuition costs. to participate in the Cadillac Leadership program. Please review the selection criteria to determine your eligibility to apply. If appropriate, complete the application below along with the program application. A printable version of the scholarship application is also available and can be mailed to Bethany Miller , Cadillac Leadership, 222 Lake Street, Cadillac, MI 49601. Applications can also be sent electronically to bmiller@cadillac.org. If you do not qualify for a scholarship but would still like to participate, payment plan arrangements may be available.
Selection Criteria:
- Scholarship applicants employed by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. A classified sole proprietor and/or individuals responsible for their own tuition will receive preference.
- Scholarship applicants are required to submit a completed program application along with this application, as all information will be used to evaluate the request. Please write “Scholarship Applicant” under your signature on the program application.
- Scholarship requests must be received at the Chamber office by 8/16/2023.
- Scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by mail or email. The balance of the tuition must be paid prior to the orientation to be held in September unless other arrangements have been previously determined.
- If a recipient is unable to attend the program, the scholarship shall be given to an alternate individual chosen by the scholarship committee.

Deb Gillies Small Business Scholarship
Deb Gillies cultivated an illustrious career with the Cadillac Leadership Program, first as a participant and then as the program’s longest running director. Over her twenty-year tenure, Deb fostered relationships, coordinated service projects, and planned leadership development for more than four hundred community members. Her knowledge of and passion for the Cadillac Area transformed the Cadillac Leadership Program into a well-known, highly supported facet of the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce. Therefore, the expansion of the Leadership program through this scholarship is in recognition and honor of Deb’s dedication towards championing two decades of community-focused leaders. The Deb Gillies Small Business Scholarship has been made possible through the generosity of Wolverine Power Cooperative and Baker College.
A partial scholarship of up to $750.00 is available to help defray costs of tuition ($1,500.00 for Chamber members; $1,800.00 for non-Chamber members) to participate in the Cadillac Leadership program.
